Trump flaunted his gold-plated toilet fixtures—actually gold painted—to a reporter
Trump ostentatiously had 24-karat gold plating applied to assorted furnishings, including toilet fixtures and other bathroom accessories, in various residences of his and his personal Boeing 757 jet.1 Yet when Trump gave a reporter a personal tour of one of his properties in 2007 and the reporter scratched a gold faucet about which Trump had boasted, the reporter found gold paint under his fingernails.2
